Touring Around London Town

Okay so I have been in London now for about 4 full days, it’s about time that I update you guys on what’s going on. Firstly there is so much to say about this place I don’t know where to begin. Just know this, I love central London!!

Gardens in St. James Park

Firstly, I was lucky enough to arrive at the beginning of some amazing weather (which I feel solely responsible for, I was coming from Florida after all) and I can’t think of a better time to be in the city. The parks and gardens and quaint streets around the central area are just beautiful and vast and the people so far have been great nothing like what I had expected. I thought the weather would have been overcast with possible rain and the people cold and dreary influenced by their weather, but not at all. First moment I arrived and was in the train station with my luggage someone offered to help me carry it up the stairs where there was no escalator, and all has echoed the same tune since then.

Now what have I done so far you wonder? Okay so the regular touristy stuff, Buckingham palace, Westminster’s, Big Ben, saw the London eye, river Thames, sat on the top level of a double decker  and, been to some pubs, which is the way Brits begin and end their day it seems. All the while, having met some really cool people. Oh and who could forget my karaoke night! No, no, this is not your grandma’s karaoke, or your over-aged male Asian friend singing along to Britney spears karaoke, but hip hop karaoke, Thursday nights at a place called the Social. Let me tell you that was too much fun!

So with all the cool stuff so far what has been my downer? Goodness gracious I’m hot!! Where is the a/c switch here? Maybe I’ve been spoiled by the wasteful excesses of American life for too long, but goodness! In the subway, on  the buses, the pubs, underground bars, no a/c!!!!  At one place I was pretty sure I was standing next to a heat vent or something and kept moving to avoid the source, but there wasn’t one, it was the same temperature all around. Oh and it is a pricey city. So besides the fact that I’m hot and will have no money left, I Love London!

Found a way to cool down in the city.
